SRT's Projects

Lead organisation: Severn Rivers Trust (Non-governmental)

Part of a large river restoration project, co-funded by the EU LIFE programme and Heritage Lottery Fund, this ongoing project uses citizen science volunteers in the field to collect data on the size of migrating twaite shad (Alosa fallax) populations in the River Severn. The migration monitoring will collect valuable data on the response of the River Severn's twaite shad population to the removal of barriers, informing river management decision, and create a community of advocates for river wildlife conservation the project hopes to influence not only volunteers, but also the networks and communities they are embedded in.
