Lead organisation: Institut national de la recherche agronomique (INRA) (Academic)

The aim is to promote a change towards sustainable agricultural practices in catchment areas (Aires d'Alimentation de Captage, AAC) by providing an agronomic and economic basis for a shared negotiation between agricultural and environmental aims.

Policy uptake explanation

Resulting from action 21 of the Ecophyto 2018 plan, the approach was designed by INRA Grignon and is led by the Ministry of Ecology, Sustainable Development and Energy. It was designed to elicit the design of locally relevant catchment action plans, in response to the french regulation to implement actions to reduce pollution in water catchment areas.
