In the UK IOSF is the only charity solely dedicated to the conservation, protection and care of otters based on over 20 years of scientific research in the UK and around the world.

Policy uptake explanation

IOSF has over 20 years of experience of carrying out ecological and environmental surveys, in particular with respect to otters. Over the years we have worked with the main ecological and governmental organisations in Scotland and England including: Scottish Natural Heritage, The Scottish Executive, the Scottish Wildlife Trust, the Wildlife Trusts, Highland Council Ranger Service. We have also provided private consultation, surveys, training and advice for the Duke of Hamilton and various individuals concerned with planning applications, in sites such as Nethybridge, Peebles and Republic of Ireland.
